Description

AI-assisted veterinary parasitology

 Automated Digital Microscopy

Multiscan is an automated digital microscope and scanner that transforms traditional microscopy into an efficient digital workflow. Once a sample is loaded, the system automatically scans the selected area, adjusts focus and captures detailed digital images. These can be reviewed, documented and shared, reducing repetitive manual scanning.

With flexible sample holders, imaging settings and objective configurations, Multiscan supports a wide range of laboratory and research applications. AI-assisted image analysis is also available for selected applications, including veterinary parasitology.

The system is designed to adapt to different sample types, microscopy applications and laboratory workflows, combining automated hardware with powerful imaging software in one platform.

 Key capabilities include:

  • Automated sample scanning and digitization
  • High-resolution digital review
  • Z-stack imaging
  • Automated autofocus and exposure
  • Digital sample documentation
  • AI-assisted image analysis for selected applications
  • Flexible sample holders and objective configurations
  • Adaptable workflows for different microscopy applications

In veterinary parasitology, dedicated AI models support the detection, classification and counting of selected parasite eggs in fecal samples, with digital images and results available for review and documentation.

 AI-Assisted Veterinary Parasitology

Multiscan combines automated digital microscopy with dedicated AI models to support routine faecal egg counting. The system automatically scans prepared samples in various formats, including standard microscope slides, McMaster chambers and Mini-FLOTAC. For supported parasitology applications, AI software assists in detecting, classifying and counting selected parasite eggs and oocysts.

The digital images and quantitative results are available for visual review, expert confirmation and documentation, helping veterinary practices and diagnostic laboratories streamline routine workflows and reduce manual counting. Beyond parasitology, Multiscan can also be used as a flexible digital microscope and scanner for other laboratory applications

FAQ's

Frequently asked questions about AI-supported faecal egg counting

Which examination methods are supported?

Depending on the application, Multiscan supports, among other things, McMaster chambers as well as flotation and sedimentation preparations on slides. Further formats can be evaluated.

Will AI replace parasitological assessment?

No. The AI recognizes and categorizes potential findings. The user reviews, confirms, or corrects the suggestions and retains professional control.

Are special cartridges required?

No. Multiscan works with established sample carriers and existing parasitological preparation methods.

How is the EPG value calculated?

The calculation is performed according to the selected testing method and the defined calculation factor. The user can review the detected and confirmed count values before releasing the results.

Dear Customer,Vetlabs Logo

we would like to provide an update regarding ongoing market cost trends and their impact on our pricing.

Global market conditions have continued to drive sustained increases in direct costs, significantly affecting the entire supply chain. As a lot of the products supplied by Vetlab Supplies Ltd are polymer-based plastics derived from oil, fluctuations in oil prices and associated raw material costs have had a direct and considerable impact on production costs.

We have continued to make every effort to absorb these increases and minimise their effect on our customers, however, due to the ongoing nature of these issues, we have no option other than to implement an adjustment to our pricing & discounts on affected products from immediate effect.

Please note this will not apply to existing stock & will only be applied to new stock received at the increased price.

We would also like to emphasise that we will continue to closely monitor raw material and market cost developments. Should conditions improve, we will review our pricing accordingly and consider potential adjustments, including reductions where possible.

Thank You for your understanding.
