Description
Qualitative Detection Of Bovine Coronavirus Antigens
Test Applicable to: Calf
Sample: FaecesThe FASTest BCV Strip is based on a rapid immunochromatographic test principle. The test membrane contains two unique monoclonal antibodies. One of these monoclonal antibodies is bound to colloidal gold particles, the second is immobilised in the test zone of the strip. If the stool sample extract contains bovine coronavirus antigens, these will form an antigen-antibody complex with the gold particles. As this complex migrates along the Test zone of the membrane to the immobilised capture antibody, a pink-purple line is formed indicating a positive test result.
Fast Aetiological Diagnostics
Coronavirus infections show fluid and mucous diarrhoea, mostly over a short period of time. Stress situations and secondary viral or bacterial infections concurrent to bovine coronavirus infections can prove fatal to the animal.
