Accurate and Hygienic
The dilutions correspond to the recommendations of the German Industry Norm 58932 (DIN 58932) and WHO (World Health Organisation) and can be accurately reproduced.
Freshly prepared samples can be counted up to 48 hours (RBC, WBC) and 12 hours (PLT) respectively.
The TIC® systems of Bioanalytic conform to the regulations issued by the ‘Employers Liability Insurance Association’ NOT to pipet by mouth. No contact with blood or blood-reagent mixture if used, as recommended.

Decon 90 Laboratory Cleaner
Laboratory Cleaning Agent
Decon 90 is the leading surface active cleaning agent and/or radioactive decontaminant for laboratory, medical and industrial applications and is available in 1-Litre and 5-Litre sizes. Decon 90 cleaning agent is supplied in high-density polyethylene containers, with tamper evident screw-on caps.
This laboratory cleaner is supplied as a liquid concentrate for dilution with water (2% to 5% solution of Decon 90 with water) and is used for both manual cleaning and use in ultrasonic cleaning baths. Problem contaminates can be treated by increasing the solution strength.
Method of Use
• The items which need cleaning must be immersed fully into the solution and left to soak for a minimum of 2 hours. Depending on the degree and tenacity of the soiling, the item can be left to soak for up to a maximum of 24 hours.
• By heating the solution 40°C to 50°C can reduce the cleaning time or alternatively use an ultrasonic cleaning bath.
• To ensure removal of all traces of contamination/cleaning agent, it is recommended that three agitated rinses in water *** are carried out and any cleaned items are rinsed thoroughly and dried.more info
For decontaminating/cleaning ceramics, glassware, rubbers, plastics, stainless steel and ferrous metals. As Decon 90 is ALKALINE, it is NOT suitable for use on non-ferrous metals, notably aluminium and zinc, or on polycarbonate.

UriStain™ - for the Microscopic Examination of Urine Sediment
UriStain™ is a urine sediment stain, intended for staining centrifuged urine sediment and used for the examination of WBCs, RBCs, bacteria, yeast and casts. The stain contains various dyes that aid in differentiating the abnormal cellular elements found in urine. UriStain is a ‘one solution’ modification of the Sternheimer and Malvin procedure which compares directly to the Sedi-Stain product.

Rapi-Diff Stain 11 Stain Set
Our Rapi-Diff II Stain Set which is useful for staining smears, especially blood smears is available in both 500ml and 250ml sets or single solutions. This triple set is for the rapid differential evaluation of haematology and cytological smears, and is directly comparable to DIFF-QUICK and the results are similar to Romanowsky stained smears.more info
How to use Rapi-Diff 11
Briefly, the smear is air dried and then immersed in “Solution A” fixing solution (Thiazine dye in methanol) for a least 5 seconds or longer. Then holding the microscope slide at one end, the smear is dipped in and out of “Solution B” (Eosin Y in phosphate buffer) five times allowing 1-2 seconds per dip. After the last dip, the excess stain is drained off onto absorbent paper and rinsed off with phosphate buffer pH 6.8. The process is repeated in “Solution C” (Polychromed Methylene Blue in phosphate buffer) to give the smear a purple colour, washed with buffer and air dried before being examined under the microscope. With this procedure, red/blue staining intensities can be adjusted by varying the number of dips in Solution B or C.

StatSpin 40mm Capillary Tubes
StatSpin 40mm capillary tubes are used for the determination of Haematocrit (Packed Cell Volume – PCV) tests. These capillary tubes are manufactured in high-quality glass and are available either in plain or pre-coated with heparin. The fill volume for these 40mm tubes is 9.4μl.
Capillaries are commonly used to extract small blood samples directly from the vein by using a Surgicutt lancet. Our centrifuge consumable range includes both 75mm and 40mm capillary tubes. This type of tube is not only used for Packed Cell Volume tests, but also the extremely useful function of transporting small volumes of sample to other devices, such as microscope slides for making blood smears and Petri dishes for other tests.

Ova and Parasite Detection System
In-Clinic Parasite Detection Test Kit
OvaTube is the ideal in-clinic parasite detection test kit which is suitable for companion and small animals and has been developed for use in veterinary hospitals, practices and reference laboratories. In a situation where an animal has internal parasites or a particular parasite, the concentration flotation technique is recommended, particularly the centrifugal technique, for the maximum yield of ova and oocysts.
Worm Egg Detection Method For Companion And Small Animals
The basic principle uses a flotation solution of special Specific Gravity in which the faecal sample is mixed and poured into a centrifuge tube. This can then be incubated vertically on the bench for up to 10-15 minutes. However, it is proven that if the tube is centrifuged at slow speed for a few minutes, the accuracy is greatly improved. Importantly, centrifugation forces heavy debris to the bottom of the tube; allows flotation of the ova and prevents debris from obscuring the final microscopic examination. Follow the instructions carefully, then stand the OvaTube vertically in a rack for 10 -15 minutes.
Centrifugal flotation is recommended by the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) as the prefered method for routine screening of faecal samples for the detection of parasite ova. In addition, it is recommended that faecal examinations should be performed 2 - 4 times during the first year of life and 1 - 2 times per year in adult pets.

Plastic disposable transfer pipettes offer a quick, cheap method of transferring or dispensing small volumes of liquids. Our standard transfer pipette has an integral plastic bulb for fast, easy filling and dispensing and a 1ml stem graduated in increments of approximately 0.25ml. In addition, we also supply a larger 3ml transfer pipette and both sizes are supplied in boxes of 500.

LipoClear - Lipaemic Clearing Reagent
Lipaemia, or gross elevations of serum/plasma lipoproteins, can be instantly recognised by turbidity in the sample which can cause interference in some analytical methodologies using photometric measurement principles.
Removal of lipaemia can be difficult and complicated by conventional methods. LipoClear tubes, however, offer a quick, simple and safe solution for removing lipaemia without affecting the measurement of other major analytes including enzymes.
Using LipoClear Tubes
LipoClear Tubes are 1.5ml microcentrifuge tubes pre-filled with the LipoClear reagent. LipoClear is a convenient, non-toxic, non-carcinogenic liquid polymer reagent which clears lipaemic serum or plasma after mixing and centrifugation.
The simple procedure involves pipetting 0.5ml of sample into a LipoClear Tube, mixing and leaving for 5 minutes at room temperature, and then centrifuging. Ideally, centrifuges spinning at 10,000G or more can be used and will allow separation and clearing in 2 minutes. Low-speed centrifuge, for example, 2000G will need 20 minutes for spinning LipoClear Tubes.
After centrifuging, the cleared sample must be removed for analysis. However, please note that all results must be multiplied by 1.2 to compensate for the sample dilution. This is a refrigerated product and is supplied in pack sizes of 10 or 40 1.5ml microcentrifuge tubes.

Livestock & Companion Animals - Parasitology
Examination of faeces from livestock and companion animals for parasite eggs and oocysts is an important diagnostic procedure in most veterinary practices and laboratories. One of the most common techniques uses the concept of floating parasite eggs to the surface of a special solution in order to be detected under the microscope.
Basically, this is achieved by increasing the density or specific gravity (S.G.) by dissolving certain salts in water. The S.G. has to be optimised in order to allow parasite eggs to float and faecal debris to sink. It is generally recognised that the S.G. of faecal flotation solutions should be within the range 1.18 to 1.27 to detect most (but not all) ova.
Vetlab Supplies Ready-made Faecal Flotation Solutions
We offer ready-made faecal flotation solution of either Sodium Nitrate or Zinc Sulphate both of S.G. of 1.200. These solutions are the most popular and recommended for general use. We offer both solutions to accommodate personal choice, although we find that our Sodium Nitrate Solution has less shrinkage effect on Giardia Cysts. However, we can make solutions of different S.G. values to personal order. These solutions are ideal for use with our 'OvaTube' and McMaster slides.
